The first official pictures of the Mercedes CLA 45 AMG hit the web prior to the car’s official debut at the 2013 New York Auto Show. The car looks quite exciting; not exactly brilliant from every angle, but very chiseled and sporty. We like!

Compared to the standard CLA-Class, the CLA 45 gets new front and rear bumpers with a spoiler lip and large air intakes at the front and a neat diffuser at the back along with four AMG tailpipes. It also gets a pair of carbon side skirts, boot lid spoiler, privacy glass, AMG wheels and red brake calipers.

As for the performance, the car will get the same powertrain as the A45 AMG, which means there is a 2.0 liter turbocharged four-cylinder lurking under the bonnet ready to pounce with all its 360 horsepower and 450Nm of torque. To try and tame this beast, AMG fits a sophisticated four-wheel-drive system, sport suspension, large wheels and powerful brakes.
